Tarantula!

Anyone who knows Jarron and Mason, knows that they are Bug Boys.  We have a family of Tarantulas living in our backyard but are skittish and hide as soon as we come around the corner.  We had a nice rain tonight and this baby tarantula stayed on top of his hole so we could get a really good look at him.  In fact, a whole half hour look.
We had my great-aunt Rosie's mfg. house delivered this week and I took the boys into our front yard to watch these 2 semi-trucks driving in 2 pieces of the house.  I thought they would have been wowed by this but the ants and a spider under our picnic table stole their attention :)

Robin Hood

The boys new favorite movie is Robin Hood.  Jarron made a bow and arrow out of Legos and wanted to make the hat really bad.  I thought of my Peter Pan costume that my Nana made for me in Kindergarten.  I found it in a trunk in the shed and Jarron's face lit up like Christmas morning.  It looks just like Robin Hood.  I got a little tear in my eye when I saw him in my old outfit.  Thank you Nana :)  Mason is wearing my brother's little bee outfit and going around stinging everyone!

Pancakes, Pancakes!

A story by Eric Carle

We read this before nap and the boys decided that when they woke up they had to make some themselves.  They added all the ingredients and mixed it.  I started cooking them and they said it needed to be as big as the story.  So the pancake ended up barely fitting their plates and they put jam on it as in the story.  They were so proud of their Pancakes, Pancakes!

Little Guy with a Big vocabulary

At just 2 1/2 Mason wows us with the big words he uses.  A few months ago Mason said "You can't hold a tarantula because it is dangerous and if it bites you it's poisonous".  He didn't even take a breath in between all that!  Some of his favorite words lately have been "camouflaged",
"waterproof", and "cephalopods".  A lot of credit goes to big brother and PBS nature and nova shows.  Where did my baby go?

Excavation

My great-aunt Rosie is putting a house on the property and the boys are having a blast with the tractor and dirt.

And of course, can't play anywhere without
finding bugs.  Here is Jarron playing with
termites!!

So you think you can dance?
